“Music isn’t an end in itself but rather a means of expressing the worship already present in our hearts through the new life we’ve received in Jesus Christ” - Bob Kauflin

SR PROGRAM

WHO: Students ages 15 to 18. The program is for vocalists, musicians (piano/keys/guitar/bass/drums), and current or aspiring sound techs.

WHAT: Students will learn to use their gifts and abilities as an expression of love for Jesus, to lead the church in glorifying God.

HOW: Lead by Josh Parkman and other members of the worship arts community, students will work on worship songs as a band. The goal is for the students to learn how their hearts and instruments function in the context of a team who seeks to lead the congregation in true worship. They will also be given opportunities to lead so that their abilities can be stretched outside of regular practice times.

WHEN: The following Fridays from 6 to 7 pm:

Feb 22, March 8, March 22, April 5, April 19, April 26, May 10, May 24, June 7

WHERE: Regina Apostolic Church Sanctuary.

WHAT THIS IS NOT: These are not music lessons. While section leaders will periodically attend to give some instrument-specific advice, students are encouraged to take lessons alongside the worship program, or to work on their craft with help from online tutorials.

EXPECTATIONS:
• Students must practice songs at home.
• Students must listen and participate.
• Students must be committed and punctual in attendance.
• If a student is struggling to meet expectations, he/she maybe asked to step out of the program in consultation with the parent(s).
